Christy Bruneau started out writing and singing live in coffee shops in San Diego and throughout Southern California in the late 1990s., opening up for many touring singer artists including The White Buffalo, Xavier Rudd, and local SD band Nancarrow.  She self-published her 2nd CD Somewhere in the Middle, under DFMP, her which was nominated for Best Acoustic Award/SD Music Awards.  DFMP releases her 3rd project/ E.P. Stories to Tell/Sweet Salvation produced by Berkeley Sound in San Diego.  Songs from both releases are available on Itunes, Spotify, and Pandora.

Originally from Arizona, DFMP founder, Christy Bruneau, moved to San Diego in 1995.  In the late '90s, Christy started putting her poetry to music.  She also ended up living in Ocean Beach, California in the late '90s just up the street from the infamous Java Joe's coffee house. With a broken heart and her red guitar in hand, she walked down Newport Ave to Java Joe's for Sunday open mic nights to work out her new songs. Joe saw her potential and asked her to sing in his songwriter showcases with fellow songwriters, who were also working out their songs then, Jason Mraz, Lisa Sanders, Anya Marina, Jeff Berkley and many more. After a few showcases, she was hooked on songwriting. In 2001-02 she recorded her first CD of original songs Angels of Mercy under the project name The Unknown Poets with San Diego musician Robert Edwards. After releasing Angels of Mercy, Christy gained the attention of Independent Filmmaker Sven Pape for a small role as a singer in his movie L.A. Twister.  Two songs from Angels of Mercy were also licensed for the film and soundtrack. Songs from Angels of Mercy are available on Amazon.com, Itunes, Pandora, Spotify and more.

Currently, DFMP is releasing the hip hop dance song "Come on Now Get on Up" a song Christy Bruneau co-wrote with two other songwriters under the name Nasty Women.  Other projects in the works include a musical entitled Mary-A Story to Tell, and a collection of poems, shorts, rants, and songs entitled WSG (West Side Girl).
